Meet Our Team

My name is Mark Broughton, founder of K9 Operations Dog Training, and everything behind this company is built on discipline, purpose, and a commitment to doing things the right way. This isn’t something I treat like a business—it’s a mission. My background and experiences have shown me firsthand what a lack of structure and guidance can lead to, both in people and in dogs, and that’s what pushed me to create a program that actually delivers real, lasting results. I don’t believe in shortcuts, trends, or one-size-fits-all training. Every dog is different, every handler is different, and the only way to build something reliable is through clear communication, consistency, and accountability on both ends of the leash.

A major part of what drives me is helping veterans. There are men and women who come home carrying things most people will never understand, and I’ve made it a priority to help provide and train service dogs that bring stability, confidence, and control back into their lives. These dogs are not just companions—they are dependable partners, and they’re trained to a standard that reflects that responsibility. Through hands-on training, I work directly with both the dog and the handler to build a relationship rooted in trust, discipline, and real-world performance.

At K9 Operations, the goal is simple: build dogs that are reliable and handlers that are confident. Whether it’s basic obedience or advanced work, the standard remains the same—structure, consistency, and results that hold up when it matters most.

About Xerxes

Xerxes isn’t just a dog—he’s a reflection of everything K9 Operations stands for. He didn’t start out perfect, and he wasn’t built overnight. Like many dogs with drive, personality, and intensity, Xerxes had to be shaped, guided, and held to a standard. That process is what defines him. Through structure, consistency, and discipline, he was developed into more than just an obedient dog—he became a controlled, reliable partner capable of operating in real-world environments without hesitation.

What makes Xerxes different is not just what he can do, but how he does it. He moves with purpose, remains neutral under pressure, and responds with clarity because he understands his role. Whether he’s working in public, maintaining composure around distractions, or simply staying locked in with his handler, Xerxes represents the level of control and trust that this training is built to achieve. He is proof that with the right system, the right mindset, and the right level of accountability, a dog can become something far greater than most people expect.

For me, Xerxes is more than a working dog—he’s a standard. He represents what’s possible when training is done with intention, and he stands as a constant reminder of why K9 Operations exists: to build dogs that are dependable, disciplined, and capable when it matters most.

Our Partner from Ringo Woods Shepherds, Jody

THE HEART & THE FOUNDATION
If Jackie is the architect of the bloodline, Jody is the foundation and the strategist driving the future of the Ringo Woods legacy. With over 20 combined years of experience, her expertise is built on a rare intersection of clinical science, behavioral psychology, and business integrity.

The Science of the Breed
Jody’s preparation for Ringo Woods began in the clinic. From a young age, she shadowed veterinary surgeons, gaining hands-on experience in veterinary science and medical care. This clinical foundation evolved into a specialized focus on K9 Eugenics and Behaviorism, ensuring that every pairing at Ringo Woods is backed by a deep understanding of genetic health and mental stability. She doesn’t just look at a dog’s silhouette; she understands its biology and its brain.

The Vision for Growth
Currently an Honors Student in Business Administration with a 3.05 GPA, Jody is dedicated to the professional evolution of our program. Her academic rigor ensures that Ringo Woods isn’t just a kennel, but a sustainable, high-standard institution. She applies the same discipline to our business growth that she does to our breeding standards: focusing on long-term stability over short-term trends.

The Creative Authority
Beyond the science and the spreadsheets, Jody is an accomplished writer and artist. Her training books and resources are the primary tools we provide to our families, translating complex K9 behavior into actionable wisdom. At Ringo Woods, Jody ensures that “we don’t breed for today’s trends; we breed for tomorrow’s integrity” by providing the scientific, academic, and creative backbone that our legacy requires.
